Fridley
Fridley is a suburb of Minneapolis located just to the northwest of the city. Originally known by the same name as the county to which it belongs, Anoka, it was named after a local politician in the 19th century.
The city of over 27,000 inhabitants is linked via good road connections to the surrounding communities and the Twin Cities and is scheduled to be one of the stops on the planned commuter rail link north from Minneapolis. The western part of the city is bordered by the Mississippi River and the Anoka County Riverfront Regional Park.
